I have a Bachelor of Applied Sciences in electronics engineering from Simon Fraser University, and a Masters degree in Journalism from Columbia University, where I specialized in magazine writing and investigative reporting.

I've lived in Brighton, UK; Ottawa; San Jose (the one in California); Whitehorse; Manhattan; and I'm based now in Vancouver, B.C. -- the 2010 Olympic city.
